🌤️ The nuclear energy sector is being pushed out of its ivory tower and forced to deploy modern communication tools to engage with the public. A substantial amount of work is done to make complex matters more accessible.
Three great initiatives I'd like to highlight:
👉 The OECD Nuclear Energy Agency Small Modular Reactor Digital Dashboard, a free assessment of most SMR & AMR designs out there, complete with maturity, on-going projects, etc. It's unfortunately not entirely up to date, and only based on publicly available information, but that's already a great start.

👉 Oklo Inc's regulatory dashboard. Licensing is typically a complex matter, with an entire bestiary of documents to submit. Oklo decided to inform (and educate) the public as much as they possibly could by transparently sharing the status of their own licensing process with the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission. This includes not only their nuclear power plant, but also their efforts related to the fuel cycle and radioisotope production.

👉 TokaLab Fusion, an open-access virtual tokamak designed for education and research in nuclear fusion. It's not the only initiative of this nature. However, this one was just announced, which deserves a shout out, and is a community-driven project powered by volunteers without external funding, which also deserves a shout out.
